Appliances
Because of limited electrical capacity, fire safety, energy conservation and bug, rodent and other health/safety problems, only microwave cooking is permitted in student rooms. Appliances should be limited to TVs, radios, stereos, shavers, electric clocks and hair care devices. Basically, appliances with an open heating element or burner and/or those that may cause a ventilation problem are not permitted in student rooms.

*Air Conditioners?
Air conditioners are not permitted in student rooms except when substantiated by medical need. In these situations, you must submit written documentation annually from your treating physician indicating that an air conditioner is medically necessary (and why). If approved, you will be contacted about arrangements; Residence Life does not provide the A/C unit and there is a $75 installation/removal cost. Taylor Hall is the only hall that is air conditioned.
