Citizenship
Become an engaged member of the Oshkosh community by sharing your talents and gifts by volunteering with local organizations. Residence hall students are encouraged to become involved in community service activities organized by residence hall staff and leaders.
Popular volunteer activities include caring for dogs and cats at the Oshkosh Area Humane Society, registering teams for the Big Brothers/Big Sisters Bowl for Kids Sake, jumping into the icy waters of Lake Winnebago for the Special Olympics Polar Plunge, and collecting food and clothing for the Christine Ann Domestic Abuse Shelter and Father Carr’s Place 2B Food Bank.
For a more complete list of agencies in the area that are in need of volunteers check out Volunteering Opportunities. Our department Community Engagement Leadership Development Specialist also serves as a resource for students interested in volunteering. Contact Mandy Armfield at 920-424-0408 or armfia55@mio.uwosh.edu with any questions.
