Early Move-In Request Form

Please understand that completing this form does not guarantee your request will be granted. Your request will be reviewed and you will be notified of the decision by phone or e-mail.

If your request is approved, early move-in will only be allowed on Saturday, August 30, 2008 between 1:00 – 5:00 pm. Students are unable to move into the residence halls prior to Saturday, August 30.

Since the residence halls will not be prepared to open until Sunday, August 31, 2008, we are only able to grant early move-in requests that are of an unusual or compelling nature.

Below you will find some common early move-in requests that will not be approved.

“My parents are out of town that weekend and are unable to help me move-in.”
“We have made vacation plans for that weekend.”
“We can only get the vehicle for that day.”
“It would be much more convenient to move in earlier.”
“One of my friends did it last year.”
“My parents have to work that day.”
“We just want to move my things into the room. I will not be staying.”

If you need to move to Oshkosh prior to your scheduled move-in dates, affordable lodging may be available through the campus conference center. To make a reservation, contact Gruenhagen Conference Center at (920) 424-1106.

Completed Early Move-In Request Forms should be sent to Lori Develice Collins, Department of Residence Life, 800 Algoma Blvd., Oshkosh, WI 54901 or develice@mio.uwosh.edu no later than Friday, August 22, 2008. Justification (Required)

In the space below or as a separate attachment, explain the extenuating circumstances that you believe require early move-in. In addition, please attach or mail to my attention any documents that support your request (i.e., copy of expiring lease, special event schedule, etc.).
