Senior Computer Technician

The MIO is responsible for all of Residence Life’s Technology needs. Senior Computer Technicians work with the Computer Technicians to support the hardware and software for the department, the Internet in the resident halls, as well as the computers labs located in each resident hall. During the school year Senior Computer Technicians will be focusing on trouble shooting resident’s Internet connection and keeping the computer labs in good working condition. During the summer they mostly spend time on upgrades and cleaning throughout the department.

LAN Technician

The MIO is responsible for all of the Department of Residence Life's technology needs. The LAN team is primarily tasked with the configuration and maintenance of the department's world-class data center. The MIO data center is home to over 25 servers running the most sophisticated hardware and software available. Additionally, the LAN team is responsible for maintaining and supporting those network services and applications running on MIO hardware, including a staff user directory and enterprise e-mail system.

Programmer

The MIO is responsible for all of the Department of Residence Life's technology needs. The programming department constantly develops new programs to support Residence Life staff as well as the students. In 2007 we launched our current Portal, which is now what a lot of our programmers develop for. Portal is written in ASP.NET using C#. The programming team also still supports some Fox Pro applications, though they have been moving more toward web development.
