Computer Labs

by willee97 last modified Sep 02, 2009 08:26 AM

Each of the residence halls have a computer lab that any resident in that hall can use.  The computers have a wide range of software including most of the software needed for classes.  Every lab has a mixture of HP and Mac equipment so a resident can pick what works best for them.  It is a great place to get school work done, browse the internet or just get away for awhile.

Accessing the Lab - Nelson, Breese & Clemans

To access the computer lab, go to your front desk, ask to check out a computer lab key, and hand the desk worker your TitanCard. The front desk worker will swipe your TitanCard, swipe a computer card, hand you a key for a particular computer, and send you on your way.  When you check out a key it is only for your use, for one computer.

Once you're done typing that paper, browsing the Internet, or emailing your pals, please return your key to the front desk. Please make sure the computer lab door is closed behind you (security reasons). Once at the desk, the worker will swipe both your TitanCard and the computer key card, then return your card to you.

Accessing the Lab -Evans, Stewart, Fletcher, Donner, Webster, Taylor & Scotts

These halls are set up with card access.  To visit these labs all you need to do is bring your TitanCard with you and swipe your it at the reader at the door and, if you have access, you will be let in.  Pick a computer and have fun.  Please make sure when you enter you do not hold open the door for another person.  They need to swipe their TitanCard to ensure they are also permitted in the lab.

Printing

Printing is available in every computer lab.  The printer is located behind the front desk.  There is a daily limit of 20 pages.  For sustainability reasons, please think before you print and make sure it is something that you actually need.  Last year the residents halls alone went through over a half million sheets of paper.
