Computer Labs
Each of the residence halls have a computer lab that any resident on
that hall can use. The computers have a wide range of
software including most of the software needed for classes.
It is a great place to get school work done, browse the internet or
just get away for awhile.
Residence Hall Information Specialist (RHIS)
The Residence Hall Information Specialist (RHIS) are trained lab
consultants who are ready to help you with the problems that you may
have. Feel free to ask them questions. To better prepare the RHIS, they
partake in training where they are instructed on the software programs
available in the labs.
The RHIS are available 15 hours a week or more depending on the size of
the computer lab.
Checking in
To access any lab other than the Scott Hall, Taylor Hall and Donner
Hall labs, go to your front desk, ask to check out a computer, and hand
the desk worker your TitanCard. The front desk worker will swipe your
TitanCard, swipe a computer card, hand you a key for a particular
computer, and send you on your way.
When checking into the Scott Hall, Taylor Hall or Donner Hall lab,
skip the front desk and bring your FOB down to the lab with you. Swipe
your FOB at the reader at the door and, if you have access, you
will be let in. Pick a computer and have fun.
When the desk worker swipes your card, or you swipe your FOB, your
information (name, room number, student ID number, and lab use status)
is logged.
Checking out
Once you're done typing that paper, browsing the Internet, or emailing your pals, please return your key to the front desk. In the case of the Scott, Taylor and Donner, make sure your work space is clean and head on out. Please make sure the computer lab door is closed behind you (security reasons). Once at the desk, the worker will swipe both your TitanCard and the computer key card, then return your card to you.
