Oshkosh on the Water

Known for its warmth and the friendliness of its people, Oshkosh is a growing and thriving community...a city to be enjoyed! Unique in its heritage, Oshkosh continues to offer citizens, and those who visit, many opportunities not found elsewhere. Rivers, lakes and parks provide an environment for family fun and relaxation throughout the year. Sports and recreation abound.

The educational system, technical school and state university offers opportunities for personal growth and a better future. Oshkosh has many cultural activities year round, including art shows, fairs, musical events, unique tours and excellent shopping. Restaurant and theatre accommodations are here for everyone to enjoy. Oshkosh is host to many large conventions and conferences. Probably the most famous among these are the Experimental Aircraft Association's (EAA) Annual Convention and Fly-In and the Miss Wisconsin Pageant.

Oshkosh is ideally located. The cities of Madison, Green Bay and Milwaukee are less than an hour and a half drive from Oshkosh. Also, the cities of the Fox River Valley (Appleton, Grand Chute, Neenah and Menasha) are just north of Oshkosh and offer a wide variety of shopping and cultural activities. The Outagamie County Regional Airport makes air travel from Oshkosh quite convenient.

The progressive and innovative ideas and ideals of Oshkosh citizens, business people, government, churches, commerce and industry continue to make Oshkosh an exciting and great place to live and visit.

The Campus of the University of Wisconsin Oshkosh

At UW Oshkosh, undergraduate enrollment exceeds 9,000 and graduate enrollment nears 1,500. There are roughly 500 minority students, and approximately 100 students from 30 foreign countries.
