Nighthost
Night Hosts provide building and residence hall property security. Night Hosts report to the Assistant Residence Hall Director in the hall where assigned.
Responsibilities include:
- Check the identity of students and their guests who enter the building (Fletcher and Taylor Hall). Make sure that all residents swipe their ID card to enter their tower (Scott Hall).
- Ensure that any non-resident is signed in*.
- Enforce all university and residence hall rules, regulations and policies while on duty.
- Report unusual events to University Police and/or the duty staff member, as appropriate.
- Abide by all university and residence hall rules, regulations and policies, while on duty.
- Be familiar with emergency procedures, including fire and tornado evacuation procedures.
- Maintain a Night Host log, making note of all routine procedures and any special problems or incidents.
- Maintain a neat sign-in log, ensuring that names and room numbers are legible.
- Answer the telephone and relay messages as necessary.
- Attend Night Host meetings and training sessions as required.
- Make and keep appointments with the ARHD for periodic performance evaluations.
- Perform any additional duties assigned by the RHD or ARHD.
- Must have at least a 2.5 GPA and not be on Residence Hall Probation.
