Hall Secretary
A hall secretary helps support the operation of a residence hall. They assist hall directors with completing paper work, mail runs, answering telephone calls, and other duties pertaining to a hall.
Hourly wage: $ 7.15
Work Hours: 10-15 hrs/ week
Responsibilities include
- Typing, word processing, filing copying and assisting with general office tasks, as directed by the RHD.
- Making a daily mail run to the Department of Residence Life.
- Making a mail run to Dempsey Hall on an as-needed basis.
- Completing MRF's, recording them on the computer.
- Answering the telephone, taking messages for the RHD.
- Learning how to use equipment found in the Residence Life Central office. This includes the copy machine and shredder.
- Purchasing hall supplies, utilizing proper purchasing procedures.
- Recording Common Area Damage and preparing the appropriate paperwork due at the beginning of each month.
- Performing other duties appropriate to the position as assigned by the Residence Hall Director.
- Must have at least a 2.5 GPA and not be on Residence Hall Probation.
Secretary candidates should have the following qualities:
- excellent written and oral communication skills,
- computer knowledge
- ability to tolerate time pressure
- organization skills
- creativity, enthusiasm, confidentiality
